Lil Brit Knits hand-knit cupcakes and tea tarts

Nicky O'Reily of Colorado grew up in England and loves to continue her English heritage by creating these sweet play-time treats. Hand-knit and easy to care for, these are great for babies up through toddlers, who love to pretend to have tea parties.

Nicky has three children and has been knitting for many years.

Bodecia's Oddities Handmade Finger Puppets

And time to play for the bigger kids. Some fun finger puppets, made by hand using both crochet and needle felting. We have a pirate, the abominable showman, a fairy, a unicorn and a raccoon. That makes for quite a party!

Made in Michigan! (I love Michigan.)

Natural Teethers for baby by Babus

Yay! Hooray! More things for play! And for the wee ones this time -

Michelle in Silver Springs, MD makes these wonderful teething rings for babies from silky smooth wood and durable cotton. She hand-knits the colorful cotton, which many babies love to gnaw on while getting their new teeth! The soft wood helps get those chompers in as well. These are washable and durable, and all natural - no worries about toxic plastic here!

Wood Blocks from the Aquarium

Sarah Maanpaa made these fantastic blocks out of scraps of wood, made them ultra smooth, and finished them with mineral oil and beeswax, so they are safe and non-toxic for kiddos to gnaw on, as they do tend to act like goats for some time and chew on anything and everything. (Emmett's current gnaw-obsession: shoes. yuk.)

Sarah is re-locating to Southern California this summer, and we're glad to have her as a neighbor! She studied architecture at UCLA. She is a mom to a two year old.
