Little Miss Heirlooms Giveaway: vote on your gift pick!

Our friend Madeline is turning 3!

This poll is in conjunction with a giveaway on the wonderful Little Miss Heirlooms blog. Your vote on this will count as one entry in the contest! (Please go to her post for full contest details.) the Outfit will give two winners a $25 gift certificate for use in our e-store or at one of our local boutique events!

So, back to this poll. We need your help! What would you give a 3 year old who is full of energy, loves pigeons, is always smiling, and enjoys her music loud?

Here are my top picks from the Outfit e-store:

1. She's pretty as a picture, so the frame tee is suiting.

2. She's being primed to excel at games, so this tic tac toe set would be fitting.

3. She will look just as darling as she is talented helping her very artistic mom and dad wearing this art smock.

Those are my top three picks, but I'm open to suggestions. Please look at all of our gift ideas here, and vote on what you think Madeline would love most!

Thank you to Little Miss Heirlooms for hosting this fantastic giveaway! Be sure to read her blog post about this giveaway to find out additional ways to be entered to win! You'll love looking through her blog, too, it's a great read.

Thanks!

Gift Sets from Kumquat

I'm happy to get a chance to work with Angelyn of Kumquat. Based out of Los Angeles, mother of one sweet little girl, Angelyn designs and manufactures Kumquat with the help of family and friends.

I first met Angelyn when Elliette was a baby, through a co-worker of Mark's who is Angelyn's cousin... one of those things... Elliette was model for Kumquat, and then later on so was Emmett!

the Outfit has three great styles of Gift Sets, packaged in a cute take-out container and ready for gift giving. Both of my kids had extensive Kumquat wardrobes, and they were among the most favorite outfits. They are great quality, and will become treasured heirlooms or hand-me-downs in great shape for the younger baby or cousin.

Lil Brit Knits hand-knit cupcakes and tea tarts

Nicky O'Reily of Colorado grew up in England and loves to continue her English heritage by creating these sweet play-time treats. Hand-knit and easy to care for, these are great for babies up through toddlers, who love to pretend to have tea parties.

Nicky has three children and has been knitting for many years.

Cloth Diapers from Eli Monster

I love these cute diapers... they are "all in one" diapers, which means that there is no insert - it's all one piece. There's nothing to prep and nothing to do other than put the diaper on your baby, and that's that. When it's time for washing, just fold over the velcro tabs and throw in the wash.

They are made of soft micro-terry, which draws moisture away from baby's skin, with absorbent layers inside to hold the wetness. The outer layer is waterproof PUL. No covers, no pins are necessary.

These are very easy to care for, and perfect for anyone who wants to try out cloth diapers as an eco-friendly and cost-saving alternative to disposable diapers.

For more info on cloth diapers, email me at wearetheoutfit@gmail.com for an e-brochure.

Amy Lyste has created a little gaggle of Felties - soft, lovable and perfectly sized for kids to love through the phases.

They come in three different sizes, and each one is entirely unique. Made from recycled wool sweaters and scarves and hand-made, they have a sweet, content expression. I want to tuck them in at night, they look so sweet all nestled together!

Natural Teethers for baby by Babus

Yay! Hooray! More things for play! And for the wee ones this time -

Michelle in Silver Springs, MD makes these wonderful teething rings for babies from silky smooth wood and durable cotton. She hand-knits the colorful cotton, which many babies love to gnaw on while getting their new teeth! The soft wood helps get those chompers in as well. These are washable and durable, and all natural - no worries about toxic plastic here!

1 Girl 1 Boy

I'm really excited to have 1Girl 1Boy in the shop. Stacy and Mark live in Philladelphia, PA
This blurb is from their About Page:

"1Girl is me, Stacy. I design, dye, print and sew. 1Boy is my husband, Mark. He mixes inks, cuts blocks, watches our 2 kids when I need to get things done and most of all he motivates me. 1Girl 1Boy are also our 4 year old daughter & 3 year old son. They exhaust us, challenge us, inspire us and remind us to look with wonder at the world."

the Outfit carries the Seadiver Tees and the Chickadee at our Santa Ana location.  Hopefully we'll grow to carry the entire collection. A lot of people make t shirts, but not many are this spectacular.

Stacy and Mark hand-dye the shirts, cut blocks, hand-print the shirts, sew appliques, and even make cool tags.

They are really one to watch --- a great example of being a mom-n-pop operation, raising the kids, making cool, cool stuff, and being very active in their community.

Amy Jo's Handmade - Plush Love.

Amy Jo Lyste of North Dakota makes the most cuddliest softest loviest funnest plush collection. Including the Zombie Monkey, which she says everyone has a strange affection for.
This collection is at our Santa Ana location. There are tooth fairies - a necessity for every 5 year old about to embark on the bizarre rite of losing teeth. Lil Babies are made of chenille, and are large enough to really cuddle into.
There are additional items not pictured - and hopefully more soon to come!

KLT Works

What made me have my design crush on KLT Works wasn't just the fact that Kristin is obviously in love with her son, Sayer, or the fact that Sayer sounds so much like Saylor, or the fact that cute little animals are all over the place in her line, or the fact that she is truly doing something dear to her.... it's all of those things, and the long-legged bird on the shirt. Really, that bird just got me. Those long legs look so familiar to me... (Those of you who have seen my dad or my dear Mark will know why long legs might just seem so safe.)
These shirts are printed using original artwork by Kristin Loffer Theiss. The owl and the nest shirts were printed using a thread drawing she does - clever! The onesies come pre-packaged and ready to give to that special half-pint in your life.
The limited edition prints are also a fun and whimsical way to dress up a nursery. These are in editions of 250, re-printed from the original works.
