Organic styles in Toddler sizes from KLT Works

Kristin just sent a shipment of her popular owl shirt on organic t-shirts. The pumpkin comes in 2T and 4T and not only is it organic, it has a great, modern fit and looks and feels like a vintage shirt. The 6T is on natural organic, super soft cotton. These fly out the door quickly!

Patchwork: Mark your calander!

Friends, this is one fun event, a true "not to miss" moment. The vendors are the best of LA and Orange County (and beyond....) the food is amazing, it's so much fun. Please write it down, send it to iCal, whatever... be sure to be there! Get your holiday shopping done early, and better yet, shop handmade, local merchandise that will keep an independent designer going through this shakey time.

the Outfit will have a booth in the back of the Harveys lot set up selling merchandise made by all of our darling designers. Be sure to stop by!

My Funky Little Monkey

Julia is another Long Beach mom with two kiddos to look after and a habit for making cool stuff out of old stuff. I love that!

She finds ways to reuse clothing to make sweet little dresses and bloomers, hats and mittens. My Funky Little Monkey items are all unique. The dresses are named "Grow With Me", because they fit as young as 4 months, and well into the toddler years as a tunic. Genius!

We are all connected.

It's crazy out there right now. You know what I mean.

And it's hitting close to home: One of our beloved designers was hit by Hurrican Ike - she is so positive through this process it really is so inspiring to me. Another dear designer will be taking her daughter in for a major surgery very soon, and again, I see her power, her ability to keep moving, and I feel so proud of her, of all of us, of moms and dads, of all of us who are determined to weather the storm.

My thoughts and prayers are with the above mentioned families.

And a reminder to any of us who are hiding under the sink, afraid to look out there for fear of the bad news -- one way to help everyone through this is to keep going out! Go out to eat at an independantly owned cafe. Do some early holiday shopping at boutiques in your neighborhood, and buy items made by small companies, here in our land. By being a community, we can pull through this. The newsman told me again today: this financial crisis is going to stick around for awhile. We have to adjust our way of living, but not stop living. Just live simply, and close to home.

It gives me great joy to know that the purchases made at the Outfit will directly impact a family in our extended community! And dare I say it... "hang in there, kitty!"
