It was a lot of work. And a lot of fun!

Jam Baby - organic cottons and vintage linens

Jen Morgan of Jam Baby in Costa Mesa makes little dresses out of organic cotton onesies and vintage hankies, napkins, and other such linens. For bigger girls, she makes skirts out of the same, our favorite is the embroidered birdies and flowers. We went ahead and nabbed that one for Elliette!

These will make great gift items; each is unique and one of a kind.

Hot off the press: New Styles from the Outfit

Mark just finished a new round of baby and kiddo shirts! We have 3 styles in sizes 3m - 6T. Elliette's favorite is the bunny army, and we like the big wheel burnout for Emmett.

Cutie

I will admit it. I love dresssing a mannequin. It's like a big Barbie! And teeny kiddo mannequins are even better, plus, they don't squirm or run away from you.

LuCoo Kids

Seattle-based designing mom Amy has a great line called LuCoo Kids - with very fun, kid-friendly appliqued t's, and even a matching plushie. Of course our favorite is the robot, but we're just sort of partial to robots.... Amy sent her line to the Outfit just in time to be a part of our Little Party on Saturday July 12!

Come check out this fun and unique line at the Santa Ana location. Soon we'll have some styles in Long Beach, too.

Sophie makes these whimsical baby onesies and t's on organic shirts. Sophie is originally from France, but now lives in Orange County. We are happy to have her in the family!

The Outfit & Built In Pittsburgh

Well, it's finally happened. We've joined forces. Sort of.

Let me back up. About 25 years ago there was a fateful meeting... a little girl in a sundress lived across the street from me. I had just moved to the street in Hamilton, Ohio - Liberty Woods Drive is the street name. So, to make a long story short, Jami Shelton and I have been able to stay connected after all these years, many moves, a few spats and one wedding. (mine.)

I'm in awe of Jami, as a woman, an artist, and friend, and am so happy to get a chance to work with her. She did the sewing. And the designing. She pretty much did it all, but has agreed to pretend I did something, too, I guess to make me look good. Ah, she's so sweet. These bloomers are an off-shoot of a pair she made for Elliette when she was born, and wore for half of her first year of life. They come in 3-6 month up to 4T and each pair is completely unique and original. Bloomers are the perfect underpinning for a cute dress, but also look super fun with a tank for summer livin'. These are soft cotton with plenty of ruffled lace and ribbon trim.

Jami works in Pittsburgh along side her friend Jake, dog Jasper and she's also re-building a house.

Jami has some of the most amazing stories and mis-adventures of all the people I know. But that's a totally separate blog, I'll leave that up to her. in the mean time, I live vicariously through her, seeing the world and all that thrives in it.

Babeeling: slings and baby girl outfits

I'm excited to introduce slings to the Outfit shops! Emmett has busted out of the seams of our sling, he lived in it for a good nine months, and we both loved it. Especially for your second, third, etc. child, when you need your hands free!

Babeeling is a company started by Mom Alexia in Kansas. After finding success and joy in making slings, Alexia expanded her product line to include many things, including clothing. These tie-tops/bloomer sets are so darling, I just wish I had found them when Elliette was still a baby!

There are many prints and colors available; in the slings there are both feminine and masculine prints, and they come in sizes small up to XXL. The outfits range from 3-6 mo up to 18 to 24 mo.
