Alphabet Attic: Toddler Purses & Aprons

Our dear friend Laurie Bush is now a part of the Outfit! Laurie makes fun colorful aprons and purses for little girls. The aprons are perfect for play time, dress up, cooking, or art. They also look fantastic over jeans with a t shirt. Laurie made a special apron for Elliette when her baby brother Emmett was born. The purses are made of vinyl with appliques of remnant fabrics.

Laurie lives in Long Beach with her husband James, and teaches with Mark at Hope School.

New from KLT Works

That Kristin is busy churning out new designs, even with the cutie baby Sayer to care for! What a mama.

We have organic onesies and t's with this incredible Thread Drawing of a falcon. It's printed large on the shirt, so you can see the detail. It's a really unique piece for a kiddo... a new favorite!

New from Amyzing Creations

Amy Stagner of Raleigh, NC makes a little bit of everything for kids. She just send some sets of hand-embroidered bibs, and a great gift set including a onesie and burp cloth embellished with a sweet candy print from Japan. These will be in Santa Ana, while in Long Beach we will have the crayon roll... perfect for the toddler on the go. It holds 16 crayons which are included, and would be great with a Jelene coloring book, also here at the Long Beach shop!

Cloth Diapers by Childish Thoughts

I am so excited to be introducing cloth diapers! Jonie Bacchus of Dickenson, TX, and mother to 3 1/2 year old Davin, makes these great pocket-style cloth diapers. The outer layer is made of waterproof PUL, and the inside layer, which goes against baby's skin, is a super soft flannel. The inserts are multiple layers of absorbent cotton. If you're new to cloth diapering, the pocket diaper is a great introduction - very easy to care for.

We will have a small stock diapers in all sizes at the Long Beach location, and custom orders can be placed through the Outfit, and be shipped directly to your home in a variety of colors.

I urge all mamas to try a few cloth diapers; they hold in the messes much better than throw-aways, are softer and kinder to baby's skin, and not to mention, on the environment. Anyone interested in learning more can email me for an e-brochure with more information.

To Market, To Market

The family went up to LA for Market this past weekend. It was great to bring Elliette and Emmett into the showrooms, and have the family all be involved. Elliette was showing us what she liked best! 

I learned more about the children's clothing market; the most interesting thing I learned was that most of the companies are run by mama's. That is really encouraging to me, since that's what the Outfit is all about!

Hula Mula - a new line for cool girls

At Market this past weekend we found the Knuckleheads and Hula Mula showroom. A very fun line for funky little boys and girls, a little bit rock and roll, and little bit greaser, and just so fun. The line is created by Melissa, a mother of four in Washington. We only have a few select pieces to offer presently, but  hopefully will have more of this great line in the near future.
